FOXES

Foxes are only occasionally seen in daylight, and being persecuted, adult foxes remain mostly nocturnal.

However the cubs are less wary and can be seen out in the late evenings before dusk, and can be enticed closer by squeaking at them like a rabbit in distress.

Cubs are also curious, and on more than one occasion, I have had one looking in the patio window, intent on checking out everything in the maternal territory.

Rural foxes are always handsome animals in their varying russet tone glossy coats, unlike many of their urban cousins, which are often mangy and dull coated.
